Steve has worked extensively across Australia in the field of conservation. Qualified in Education and Science, he has lectured in land management and environmental science and worked in National Parks in five of Australia’s States and Territory’s. His skills in research empower him to acquire not only the most relevant pieces of information to share but the anecdotes and stories.
Steve’s easy-going style and ability to share this knowledge of the natural environment and wildlife, together with the way he weaves the cultural, social and geographical history of French Island throughout the tour makes him the perfect guide.
He lives on the Mornington Peninsula with his young family and also works aboard Western Port Ferries sailing between Stony Point, French Island and Phillip Island.
Linda Bowden is a long time resident of French Island and tour guide with Naturaliste Tours.
Ten years ago, she turned her back on a successful career with a large multi-national corporation to embrace the unique lifestyle and environment of her new home. She loves to share her knowledge of the island with adventurous visitors: its extensive flora and fauna, its rich history, its beautiful beaches and magnificent views – as well as the unusual challenges and joys of living on an island.
As a local she will probably also share a few of the island’s truths and debunk some of the myths of island life.
